Begin by clipping nails at the left and right edges. Then, move to the center, trimming gradually to achieve the desired length and shape. Starting at the corners minimizes nail stress, helping prevent breakage and ingrowns. The Shaper: Starting from one side of the nail, file toward the center, moving in one direction. Repeat on the opposite side of each nail, moving from side to center for a consistent shape. The Push Back: Soak nails in soapy water for three to five minutes to soften the skin around the nails. Gently push back cuticles to loosen them from the nail bed, taking care to avoid excessive force that could break the seal of the cuticle, which acts as a protective barrier. Use the edge of the tool to clean under the nail. The Nip: After using The Push Back to gently push back cuticles, trim any residual hanging dead skin, taking care not to overcut or disturb live tissue.
